As more people recognize the importance of mental health in our lives, it is important to understand the range of mental health services available in Singapore. This can include mental health services for persons undergoing mental health challenges, or opportunities to volunteer or support loved ones. Mental Health Core is a chance to learn more about organizations in the Singapore mental health community which focus on different aspects such as youth mental health, mental health outreach and more. Our Partners

Samaritans of Singapore (SOS)

Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) is a secular, non-profit suicide prevention centre. Since its establishment in 1969, SOS has developed into a professionally run and managed organisation. It adopts a holistic approach to suicide-related topics, focusing on prevention, intervention and postvention, an intervention conducted after a suicide for loved ones and friends. With the mission to be an available lifeline to anyone in crisis, SOS offers emotional support to people in crisis, thinking of suicide, or affected by suicide. All information shared with SOS is treated as confidential and people can choose to remain anonymous.

Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH)

The Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) has been a key partner in the transformation of the mental health landscape in Singapore since 1968. As a social service agency, SAMH has contributed significantly to the mental health care system in Singapore by having a suite of services, which include rehabilitative, outreach and creative services, that complement the Government’s efforts to provide holistic mental healthcare.

With a vision to promote ‘Mental Wellness for All’, SAMH is committed to improve the lives of, and promote acceptance and respect for, persons with mental health issues and improve the mental resilience of the community. SAMH continues to play a critical role in strengthening the social fabric by cultivating and building a more inclusive and empathetic community through focusing on preventive care, rehabilitation and education in mental health and wellness.

ResiL!ence @ SHINE

SHINE serves vulnerable children, youth and their families with aims to enable them to maximise their potential. We build young lives, enhance their resilience and SHINE the light of hope for their future. ResiL!ence, our youth mental health service, works with youths aged 12-25 years who are at risk of or with mental health conditions and their caregivers.

Resilience Collective

Resilience Collective is a mental health charity, IPC and member organisation of NCSS. We were co-founded in 2018 by BinjaiTree Foundation and Caregivers Alliance Limited. A peer-powered platform, we place strong value on a peer’s knowledge from the lived experience of a mental health condition and the benefits of peer support towards the betterment of mental health and anti-stigmatism. Through co-production, we harness the shared wisdom and perspectives of persons with the lived experience of mental health conditions and those with professional expertise, to create new approaches to mental health solutions.

Limitless

Limitless is a non-profit organisation that was founded with the vision of building hope and worth, empowering the next generation to live purpose-driven lives, and to fulfil their potential in life 

The Agency works primarily with youths between 12 – 25, who struggle with mental health issues, providing subsidised or free therapy and casework services, groupwork, as well as outreach.

NTU Peer Helping Programme

NTU Peer Helping Programme is a student organisation that aims to create a Hearty Community through Uplifting Well-being. They have various initiatives—from monthly events to direct peer support services—to empower NTU community to take ownership of its mental well-being.  

NTU Psychology Society

NTU Psychology Society is a non-constituent society that aims to promote and disseminate knowledge in psychology and its applications. They are open to all undergraduate and graduate students of NTU, regardless of major! The Society aims to promote psychology through student outreach and career guidance sessions, facilitated by professionals from various psychological domains. Student-initiated volunteer opportunities also enable the Society and its members to contribute back to both local and foreign beneficiaries. Members who share an interest in psychology can expect to benefit from its initiatives that aim to increase exposure to psychology as a life-skill, academic discipline and valued career pathway.

Community Health Assessment Team (CHAT)

CHAT offers confidential mental health checks for individuals between 16 to 30. Our friendly team of mental healthcare professionals can help youths in distress understand what they are experiencing, and how they can make things better. 

CREST-Youth Lakeside Family Services@West

CREST-Youth Lakeside Family Services@West increases the awareness of mental health issues and promotes early identification among youths. We involve parents and peers in the recovery journeys of youths battling with mental health issues and link them to appropriate support networks. Our team seeks to build Self-confidence, Optimism, Accountability and Resilience so that each youth can learn to SOAR above their circumstances. 

University Wellbeing Office (UWO)

UWO serves as the central coordinator to augment the university-wide care and support ecosystem in the spirit of “OneNTU Thriving Together”, with emphasis on preventive self-care and positive mental health for all OneNTU members, and in tandem with national efforts.
